We are followers of Jesus. We believe that children are gifts from God to be cherished, protected and nurtured. Sadly, millions of them are suffering and at-risk. There are over 400 million children living in extreme poverty worldwide.[1] Jesus not only commanded us to care for the poor and vulnerable he also taught us that children are to be included, protected, and loved. He was for children, and so are we.
We believe that the future flourishing of society, of communities, of families and of churches is dependent on the holistic growth of children today. Therefore, we exist to strengthen the capacities of local churches to offer effective, holistic child development ministry for and with children – especially those in poverty.
Tanglaw seeks to build a community of Jesus-followers who are committed to releasing children from poverty; a community of believers who live with open hands; a community that shares the knowledge, methods, experiences and ideas that each of us have to strengthen one another in ministry with children-at-risk.
We invite you to join us as a collaborative community to share with one another the ideas, experiences, methods and tools that help children thrive even in the midst of adversity.
