The User’s Guide & Training Guide is a combined document that addresses the basics of how to use the Home-based Global Resource Curriculum (GRC) and how to train others to use it. The User’s Guide addresses the overall curriculum framework and specific topics, such as how to select, contextualize or revise a lesson plan to fit current needs. It also addresses how to overcome common problems with implementation, such as time management or being short-staffed, in addition to explaining helpful best practices. Lastly, the User’s Guide includes evaluating the effectiveness of program implementation and provides assessment tool options so that you can learn and grow as an implementer as you help moms and babies learn and grow. Throughout the document, you will see links to relevant sections of the Training Guide and Toolkit. The Training Guide is for anyone who may be conducting formal or informal training on how to use the Survival & Early Childhood GRC to deliver home-based programming. Implementers ultimately use the curriculum to teach and provide interventions, so their learning and understanding of the curriculum is a big part of what makes Survival & Early Childhood Home-based programming so effective and life-changing. The content and exercises within the Training Guide are flexible enough to use and adapt for any level of training. These include: case studies, decision-making processes, discussions, role play and practice scenarios. Throughout the document, you will see links to relevant sections of the User’s Guide and Toolkit.
