Adolescent Core Curriculum - Leadership - Developing Assets

The curriculum set is a collection of 40 lessons that aims to equip students spiritually, physically, cognitively and socio-emotionally by building assets in their own lives and in the lives of others. After completing this discussion guide, students should be able to meet the objectives of all 40 developmental assets. The first half of the lessons focus on the external assets that are provided from outside and the second half of the lessons addresses those assets that are internal. Topics are varied, but include taking responsibility, equality, and conflict resolution. Lessons are designed to be taught throughout the year, not all at once, thus giving the students time to do the recommended activities for a period of time before advancing to the next asset. All lesson plans include instructions for preparing the material, teaching the lesson with hands-on activities, and assessment of learning.
