The lesson “Field Trip – Visit with the Expert” gives children the opportunity to visit and interact with a local food provider. The children will ask questions they prepared for the provider, identifying the process that a local provider must go through in order to prepare and sell food in the community. This experience is designed to educate the children on the details of an income-generating activity. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 6-8 years, and is the 22nd lesson in the 2nd Year “Cook a Local Meal” unit.
