The curriculum set, “Cognitive Lesson Plans for Ages 6-8, Year 1” is a collection of 52 lessons that will equip children with the skills and motivation to become economically self-supporting. The curriculum is contextualized for Africa, and uses age appropriate verbiage, activities, and illustrations to cultivate vocational interests and help children understand their own unique gifts and talents. Lessons vary widely from practical applications like growing plants and food safety to more academic topics like critical thinking and reading strategies. All lesson plans include instructions for preparing the material, teaching the lesson with hands-on activities, and assessment of learning. This set of lessons is designed to accompany “Cognitive Lesson Plans for Ages 6-8, Year 2.”
