The lesson “Dangerous Substances” is part 16 of a 46 part series on human development, the human body, health, and safety. This lesson teaches children about dangerous drugs, alcohol, and dangerous chemicals they may encounter. This resource includes a lesson plan for the teacher to prepare beforehand, class-time content to facilitate learning, hands-on activities to enrich further learning, and a teacher assessment to use at the end. There are also suggestions for two alternate activities. This lesson is designed for a group of young children between the ages of 6 and 8, and is the sixteenth physical development lesson in the Core Curriculum, 6-8 years, Year Two.
